Program Duration: 13 days | Program Type: Trekking | Maximum Altitude: 4250m (Bhairav Kund ) | Minimum Pax: 2+ | Mode of Travel: Land | Trek Start: Jalbire | Trek End: Larche | Trip Grade:Bhairav Kunda derives its name from two words- Bhairav- refers to the aggressive form of lord Shiva when he is killing the demons and Kunda means holy pond in Sanskrit language. "Bhairav Kunda" is located to the northeast of Kathmandu and next right to Panch Pokhari and closer to Nepal - Tibet border. After 5 hours of bus ride from Kathmandu we arrive at the trek starting point called Jalbire. Jalbire is a traditional small town full of "Newari" culture. We are going to spend the first night of our outdoor adventure right nearby small "Newari" town of Jalbire.
During the rest of our 10 days trip, we observe the different ways of life, culture and come in contact with the people in the small village, passing through the dense forestations and meadows. The top of Bhairav Kunda offers an excellent view of Rolwaling range, jugal Himal arrange and some of the Tibetan mountain as well. On the last day of the trip we take a transport ride back to Kathmandu from Larche or you can combine the rafting tour with this trek.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Airport and transfer to Hotel
Day 02: Sight Seen in Kathmandu,Bhaktapur,Patan and O/N at Hotel
Day 03: Kathmandu [1350m] - Jalbire [1000m] by bus
Day 04: Jalbire to Chanaute [1350m]
Day 05: Chanaute to Khani Gaon [2000m]
Day 06: Rest day with local village sightseeing
Day 07: Khani Gaon to Forest Camp [3150m]
Day 08: Forest Camp to Pati [3765m]
Day 09: Pati to Bhairab Kunda [4250m]
Day 10: Bhairab Kunda to Sherpa Gaon [2500m]
Day 11: Sherpa Gaon to Larche [1500m] and visit Hot spring (Kodari highway)
Day 12: Larche to Kathmandu by bus
Day 13: Departure
