Itinerary Detail
Day 01: Kathmandu arrival (1325m)
Arrival in Kathmandu you will be welcomed by our agency representative on airport and transferred to the hotel. After some rest you will be introduced to guide of our upcoming trek and given some brief descripyion about trek safety and equipments etc. Any questions or doubts should be asked and clarified at this time. We check your insurance details and other requirement for your trekking.
Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing.
After breakfast, we start an interesting tour around Kathmandu city where it will be escorted by an English speaking guide .Religious, cultural and, historic places like Kathmandu durbar square, Monkey temple Swaymbunath, Pashupatinath and the Buddhist shrine Boudha nath will be visited.
Day 03: Kathmandu - Nepalgunj fly
after breakfast drive to airport and fly to Nepalgunj, takes 55 minutes to reach there. It is in the Terai near the Indian border. We spend rest of our days exploring the city. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Nepalgunj - Jumla fly (30 min). Trek to Gothi Chaur (2700m)
Fly to Jumla.Jumla lies on the banks of Til Khola at 2370m and is renowned as the highest rice growing areas in the world. We passing the airport to the eastern end of the runway, several water- driven mills drop to the confluence of the Til Khola and the Chaudhabise Khola. Crossing both the rivers on the bridge the trail climbs into a fertile valley along the Southern side of Tila to Depal gaon. Climbing to the small villages of Bhajkati, Dugri Lagun from Depal gaon we arrive at Dochal Ghara. Then again the trail climbs to a rock cairn at Pattyata Lagna finally descending to Gothi Chaur.
Day 05: Gothi Chaur - Naphukana (3080m)
Walking downstream through forests to a series of mills at Kuri Sangta we re-enter the Tila Valley. On the way we cross several bridges and finally crossing the river our trail climbs to Chotra a village of with its typical Tibetan mani walls and we come to another Tibetan-looking village, Naphukana. Above this village, there is a large gompa. We stay overnight in camp.
Day 06: Naphukana - Balasa
The trail descends from the pass and makes a long connection to a steep slope then drops into a forest of Pine and Oaks. Entering the Bheri Valley, we move to the village of Chaurikot. From Chaurikot we drop to a stream and then climb right back up again at an inviting notch on the ridge at 3080m and 30 minutes beyond the ridge is Balasa. We pass through Oak and Rhododendrons to Mauri Lagna (“Honey Pass”) at 3820m. Views of the snowy peaks of Gutumba (5608m) and Matatumba (5767m) to the northeast and Bhalu Himal (5460m) to the south
Day 07 : Balasa - Kaigaon
Descending to a stream, we climb to ridge in a forest of Walnut trees. The trail contours passing the corn and potato fields and apple orchards of Jyakot and then descends to Rimi from here down a rocky trail to the Bheri river. Just across the bridge is Kaigaon. Kaigaon is the departure point for a crossing of Kagmara La.
Day 08: Kaigaon - Toijem (2920m)
After an early breakfast we begin with our day trek to Toijem. We Staying on the west bank of the Bheri, passing Hurikot, staying high above the river to the confluence of the Jagdula and Garpung Kholas. We drop to Jagdula Khola crossing it on stones to Toijem.
Day 09 : Toijem - Kagmara (3500m)
We continue to follow the Garpung Khola at the elevation of 3650m, cross to the eastern side and continue upstream. We from here ascend slowly towards the Kagmara La. The panoramic views of the peaks are superb. We can make our stay at tented camp.
Day 10: Kagmara - Kagmara Phedi (4000m)
To make an early start we make an early breakfast and begin with our trek. We climb alongside the Kagmara Glacier to the Kagmara La, which is at an elevation of 5115m. After descending 900m along a stream, we reach to the pastures of the Pungmo Khola Valley. Our camp site for the rest of the evening.
Day 11: Kagmara Phedi - Phoksumdo Lake
before joining the trail up the Phoksumdo Khola to Phoksumdo Lake, we go downstream to the national park headquarters at Sumduwa. We climb through a forest of large cedars to the winter settlement of Palam and continue ascending through the open country to a ridge. Close by is a spectacular waterfall, the highest in Nepal. The trail then makes an initial descent before climbing gently to Ringmo village. After crossing a bridge below Ringmo, the trail continues northwards to the shores of Phoksumdo Lake. We will end with our long day trek on arrival to the Phoksumdo Lake.
Day 12: Rest at Phoksumdo Lake
The Lake is known for its unusual greenish-blue colouring, it is overlooked on the western side, by a large snowy peak known as Kanjirolba or Kanchen Ruwa. It is 4.8km long, 1.8km wide and said to be 650m deep. A trail leads through a stand of juniper trees to an old dilapidated gompa, which overlooks the lake. Within the temple we can see the evidence of the ancient Bon -po religion and chapels. We stay o/n at tented camp.
Day 13: Phoksumdo Lake - Baga La Phedi
to be at Baga la Phedi, we follow trail eastwards through forests of juniper and blue pine. We follow the river up the valley to a waterfall and reach at the base of the Baga La. This will be our camping site for the night.
Day 14: Across Baga La Phedi (5090m). Trek to Numa La Phedi (4800m)
To reach to the top of Baga La from its base is going to take us almost three hours. Baga La is the second of the high passes in the route. The descent is gradual at first but it soon drops steeply to a stream before ascending again to the foot of the Numa La. Overnight stay at Numa La Phedi.
Day 15: Across Numa La (5360m). Trek to Do (4100m)
after breakfast at the base to complete with our climbing of the last of the high passes, we start early and then continue climbing through arid country to the Numa La. It is marked by mani stones and, if it is clear, we can see as far as Dhaulagiri. Now we descend past a huge mani wall to the Tarap region and then we walk through the barley fields of the Tarap Valley to the settlement of Do.o/n at camp.
Day 16: Rest at Do
we spent a day resting at Do. Do, the largest settlement in Tarap has several gompas. On the ridge above the village is the Ri Bhunpa Gompa and, to the east, the village of Shipchhok has a Bon-po gompa. We are also bestowed with the opportunities to see great views of the valley and surrounding snow peaks from a number of nearby ridges.
Day 17: Do - Lahini (3560m)
After a day’s rest at Do we continue with our trek. We walk and follow the river until it flows into a gorge. We enter the gorge, which has large rose shrubs, and after crossing and re-crossing the river numerous times we finally come to a flat expanse, Lahini. Overnight stay at Lahini.
Day 18: Lahini - Tarakot (2600m)
The trail today is steep, narrow and dangerous as it clings to the cliffs, so we need to be careful while crossing it. However, as we approach the village of Khanigaon, the valley widens and the route becomes easier. Then we climb high above the river before descending towards the Barbung Khola and the fortress village of Tarakot. We stay overnight in camp.
Day 19: Tarakot - Dunai (2100m)
We follow the Barbung Khola downstream along the south bank to the village of Lawan, before crossing to the north bank and walking for several more hours to Dunai.we stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 20: Dunai - Juphal (2500m)
Trek from Dunai to Juphal (2500m). From Dunai, we continue to follow the river downstream through Roop Ghar and Kala Gaura before climbing up through meadows to the airport at Juphal. our final night's campsite will be near the airfield. we stay overnight in camp at Juphal.
Day 21: Juphal - Nepalgunj -Kathmandu fly.
Flights are operated early in the morning at Dolpo because of high winds in the Thulo Bheri valley so making a night stop at Juphal we get up early in the morning to catch flight to Nepalgunj from there, a connecting flight back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 22: Kathmandu free day of your own. (This day can be used in case flight cancellation.)
Day 23: Kathmandu free day of your own. (This day can be used in case flight cancellation.)
This is the free day and you can use it for your shopping .In the evening we will drive you for farewell dinner with cultural dance.
Day 24: Final departure
Departure day we depart at the estimated time from hotel to the airport and on the way feedbacks about the trek,and leave the airport after wishing to have a great journey.
